Binder Park Zoo

Immerse yourself in natural experiences this summer at Binder Park Zoo!  A 433 acre wildlife preserve, this is not your typical zoo.  See nature as it was indented and experience animal encounters with some of the world’s most exotic creatures.  A trip to Africa is just a short tram ride away!  Climb aboard a zebra striped tram and be transported to Wild Africa, a 50 acre replication of an African national park.  On your adventure discover spectacular views of wild animals on an 18-acre savanna from elevated boardwalks, get nose-to-nose with one of the largest giraffe herds in the country and hand feed a giraffe!  Binder Park Zoo’s mission is to nurture empathy, understanding, and conservation of nature.  The Zoo is an active participant in sixteen AZA Species Survival Programs and manages several other rare and endangered species for conservation. Yearly, over 30,000 children and adults received the benefit of the Zoo’s formal and informal education programs as well as numerous special initiatives. Binder Park Zoo is the region’s leading cultural center for natural history education, wildlife conservation, and outdoor recreation.  Binder Park Zoo is now the ninth largest cultural attraction in the state of Michigan.
